Communications 1- Description

It was a cold Saturday morning when I woke up to the sound of my buzzing alarm. I slid out of bed with confidence I was not falling back asleep. As I put on my bathing suit I shivered at the feeling of the suit being wet from the day before. I made sure the house was locked up and I trotted out to my Jeep to embark on my everyday adventure. When I opened the car door I was smacked with a tropical sensation that filled my nose. My car always smells like the beach. I loaded my surfboard on top of the Jeep and pulled the straps tightly until my board was secure. Once I got to the beach, I  immediately went through the motions of unpacking to the sound of crashing waves and seagulls soaring above. I practicaly flew into the ocean to jump on my board. The wax on the board left a painful rash that day but it was worth it for the internal bliss I achieve while surfing.

Communications 1- cause/effect

Steven had another mental breakdown today. It has been a year since his last but so much has happened this year. To start, his grandmother passed away. It was not a sudden death but for Steven it was never coming. He has looked up to her and loved her since he was a toddler and she was always there for him. I think letting her go is impossible for him. On top of his grandmother's passing, Steven did not make the varsity footbal team this year at his school. In the last two years footbal has developed such a soft spot in his heart. He absolutely loves football and that rejection crushed him. Two days ago Steven ran into another upsetting situation. Steven had a girlfriend for almost a year who abruptly broke up with him after cheating on him. If Steven was not playing football he was always with her. This really took a toll on him. I fear now that he may feel completely empty inside. Since earlier today he has sat in his room all alone. He has not spoken a word either. The only sounds Steven has made are due to weeping.

This added padding to the learning process replicates that of using training wheels on a bike while learning. Bicycles are sometimes used to coast through a beautiful environment or sometimes to competitively do the coolest trick out of everyone. This resembles the recreational and competitive sides of surfing. Surfing and biking closely relate as a form of exercise. This exercise releases endorphins and satisfies the mind. Surfing Narrative- Communication 1

It was a calm Sunday morning when my alarm rang at six. I jumped up quickly to start my long day of surfing. I started with sliding on my wetsuit and washing my face. I went out to the garage and grabbed my surfboard. I gently attached the board to my car rack and started to feel the morning coming alive. There was a faint light outside as I left leaving promise of the sun's soon awakening. I raced down the road ignoring all road signs. Surfing has become a big focus of mine over the last few months leaving everything in a category I call unimportant. As I arrived at the beach, I noticed something unbearble. A few obvious tourists were not only parked in my spot, but they were also surfing in my spot. I made the immediate observation that my intentions on the outcome of this day were wrong . Since I am not the type of person to argue with some random person I will go home and spent the rest of the day whining.
